Meet your Presenters

Jessica Humble-Crofts and Silvia Semana

Jessica Humble-Crofts is an international education consultant and coach who works with educators worldwide to develop innovative Concept-Based curriculum. She is a certified independent Erickson and Lanning Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction trainer and workshop leader,  a lead curriculum developer for the CBI Mathematics project and professional development course facilitator for Professional Learning International and is the science specialist for the CBCI Institute. Jessica has more than 15 years of experience as an international science and mathematics educator.

Dr. Silvia Semana is a Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction Certified Trainer and curriculum developer and reviewer for the CBI Mathematics project. At ISH, she leads school improvement efforts through accreditation and quality assurance processes with a main focus on teaching and learning. Holding a PhD in Education, her research focuses on teaching practices that enhance students’ self-regulation of learning. Silvia has led whole-school initiatives embedding Concept-Based Inquiry, Formative Assessment, and Technology across subject areas and year groups. Passionate about making learning more meaningful, student-centred, and transferable, she supports educators with practical strategies to strengthen inquiry-based teaching and formative assessment in their classrooms and schools.
